Join Southampton Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership

Essential requirements

  • This role requires strategic skills and is for people with lived experience of mental health challenges living in Southampton.
  • Commitment Required: Up to 8 hours every 3 months, attending quarterly Partnership meetings; and pre and post partnership meetings. Peer support will be provided throughout the three year role. Induction and development will be provided.
  • Location: Southampton, attending meetings face to face or online via Teams.
  • Background: Southampton Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership (SMH&WP) is a collaboration between a range of organisations in the city with an interest in Mental Health support and prevention in the community it has the vision that People in Southampton will have good mental health and wellbeing, whatever their background or the circumstances in which they live.

Participation role details:

  • This role requires strategic skills and is for people with lived experience of mental health challenges living in Southampton.
  • There will be opportunities to share personal own experiences of mental health challenges to inform strategic decision making about mental health and wellbeing in the community in Southampton (not care in mental health services which is led by the NHS).
  • The Southampton Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy has an associated action plan which the Partnership discusses regularly. The role will provide input into the delivery of this plan.
  • This role will help the development of further People with Lived Experience opportunities
